Asha - Reducing Child Mortality
GOALS- Our goals is to reduce infant mortality and improve child health by providing essential healthcare services and support. We also aim to make essential paediatric supplies accessible to marginalized communities. Additionally we strive to educate parents and caregivers on child health and disease prevention to ensure healthier early childhood development.
IMPLEMENTATION- We partnered with leading pediatricians to provide free consultations to marginalized communities, orphanages and government schools. We also distributed free essential child-care products such as diapers, hygiene kits and WHO recommended nutritional rations. The campaign also conducted awareness programmes on perinatal care, breastfeeding, prevention and management of common childhood illnesses like diarrhoea and reproductive health.
OUTCOMES- The campaign increased access to pediatric healthcare and improved awareness on child nutrition, immunisation and preventive healthcare amongst marginalized communities, orphanages and government schools. By providing free consultations we promoted early intervention and support which helped to reduce child mortality and contribute to healthier childhood development in underprivileged communities.
